Winning the toss, we chose to bowl first. The Trouts thought they would start with the newly formed opening partnership of Randy and Trout himself. Bowling tight lines, they started well and restricted runs where they could before changing over to Chris and Jase. This is where things went berserk. Jason came on and bowled the first opener, Aman, then Chris decided to bowl good. Moving the ball both ways, bamboozling anyone he bowled to, Chris managed to pick up a 5fa! Inc 2 LBW, 1 bowled and a couple caught in the field. The rest of the wickets were shared between Sukh, Corey and George. Well done to George for picking up his first wicket for Bloomfield. PCC Super Super XI bowled out for 137.

Coming into this chase it would be fair to say there was a little confidence from our batsmen, although in the back of our minds we haven’t forgotten about how well these blokes can bowl. And bowl they did. Opening with our secret weapon Steeeeeeve, we knew we were in with a shot at this. Until he was out LBW 4th ball of the first over, LMAO! From there, our innings went titts up. Wickets fell regularly and at 36/9, we knew we were going to be having beers early. Until Zach and Greg came in for a last-minute flurry and pushed us through to 63 when Zach was our last man out for a quick fire 14 runs.

Bowled out for 63 isn’t exactly something to write home about but when our actual team Accelerate Automotive Bloomfield returns, that will soon change.
Wanderers next week.

Asbestos Surveys Vs Wanderers
After copping a lot of grief for not writing up our previous round I thought I had better get it together and ruin an evening trying to remember what happened. Kurt was this weeks tosser and he won it giving us the chance to bat first.

lost something.
Gaz and Big Doggs got got us off to a very steady start working the Wanderers opening bowlers into gaps and keeping the score ticking over. It soon became clear that Wanderers had an abundance of accurate spin bowlers in their arsenal that made scoring difficult. Gaz and Big Doggs managed to bat through to the 17th over before Aaron hit a ball from Johnny McKay straight to the man at cover. Johnny wasn’t finished with his breakthrough removing Gaz in his next over. Georgia Atkinson got Trimmy for not a lot in her next over and all of a sudden, we were 68 for 3 at drinks.

Clifford and Kurtis hit the ground running after drinks hitting a boundary an over to help lift the scoring. Things started looking good until Clifford was bowled by Regan McConaghty for 22. Lazer Jet joined Kurtis at the crease and started hitting boundaries immediately. The key thing about building a strong launching pad is being able to use it to launch. We were at risk of burning up on the platform. What we needed was a big innings from Kurtis and that’s what he delivered. He plundered 85 off 63, helped by a solid 26 off 32 from Lazer, leaving us on 214/4 at the end of the innings.

We actually warmed up
Our bowling had been a bit below par in previous weeks, so this week was a good opportunity to get it back on track. Ben didn’t take it, producing a shambles of a spell. Gaz was consistently solid at the other end, but Ben was leaking runs all over the show. A direct hit on the stumps from Craig trim produced our first wicket, running out Shaun Washington for 9. In amongst the rubbish Ben was bowling he manged to produce a couple of good balls removing Regan McConaghty for 2 and Gurkiran Sandhu for 0.
Craig Dawson had been casing 250 wickets for a few weeks now, stranded on 248. His 249th would be the wicket of Sam MacKinder. We had to wait a little but eventually the 250th came after Kurt Dooley hit one straight to Jake Russell. Things were going swimmingly for us until Georgia Atkinson put on a massive score, switch hitting her way to 81 off 62. Unfortunately, the task was a little too much and she was finally bowled by Damian David Darcy Hamo in the 34th over. The next few wickets fell pretty quickly, and Wanderers were all out for 167 in the 35th over.

A solid game for us with the bat and some good bowling puts us in a good position for our must win game versus Maw Haws next week. For some reason the playoffs are top 4 this season so we will need some results to go our way if we don’t want our season to end next week.
