The Fat Jack Memorial is awarded to the winner of the first 40+ over match of the season. I had actually forgotten about it so we were as suprised as Marton were to find out we were playing for it. Does that remove some form of legitimacy? probably. Who cares.
This was the first pre-season match we had ever held at Omanuka and it may also have been the earliest grass wicket played on in the Manawatu.
Everyone got a bit of a bowl and a bat and bloomfield ran out the winners. It was a great day playing against a great bunch of blokes that we dont offen get to play against. As always the game was followed by a beer and a BBQ. I would have added more detail but I finished writing this 4 months after I started it so yeah.
