THE BLOG

Bloomfield Cricket Club was formed in 1994 by members of the Manawatu Sri Lankan community and owes its name to a senior representative side in Sri Lanka. Surviving as a one team club it has competed in the Manawatu Cricket Associations 3rd grade competition since its formation winning 6 championships in that time.

Bloomfield prides itself on its team culture and friendly competitive attitude to the game and we are always on the look out for new members keen on playing a similar style of club cricket. Our membership is extremely diverse including a mixture of Secondary and Tertiary students, players in their prime and more "seasoned" older players. We're also the only club in the Manawatu to have its own private cricket ground at Omanuka Oval where we play several games, and post/pre-season events each season.
